Home Keeps Moving

By Samuel

My name is Heidi Sand-Hart and I am a Missionary Kid who grew up in India, England and Norway. My father is Norwegian, mother Finnish but I was born in the UK and currently live in London. I have worked with Youth With A Mission for 7 years, all over the world.

I have recently written a book about being a Missionary Kid and it has been published in America by McDougal Publishing. Ruth E. Van Reken (an expert in the field of Third Culture Kids) has written a great foreword for the book and it was released worldwide in mid-July.

“Home Keeps Moving” tackles the struggles and challenges faced by Third Culture Kids trying to grasp an understanding of who they are as a result of their highly transient upbringings. The book offers insight into growing up in multiple worlds. With books such as “The Shack” (William Paul Young) and “Jungle Child” (Sabine Kuegler) infiltrating the mainstream, this topic is receiving far more exposure and media attention. It is a rare personal approach on a subject that has, up until now, been mostly theoretical.

I think the topic is very relevant to all Christians since most are connected in one way or another to missionaries and their children. I have already received a lot of positive feedback and hope this will help many people.

God bless,
Heidi
