Help an African Schoolchild Trust – Hast

• The Aim of the charity is: To improve the living conditions, the educational standards and facilities in a number of Zambian and Tanzanian communities.
• Our main project is helping and assisting street children and orphans in the northern town of Kasama in Northern Zambia.

Hope for Africa International (HOFAI)

• is a Zambian Christian Non-Profit organisation which was formed as a collective effort created to address the enormous challenges faced by millions of African children who have either been orphaned by AIDS or live with parents who are sick or dying from AIDS-related illnesses.

Make a Difference (MAD)

• is to empower orphaned children and youth to become self sufficient and self confident citizens through education, healthcare, job skill training, and income generating activities at orphanages and community schools.
• In Northern Zambia near the Congo border we help one community school with 300 children, one

  orphanage with 15 children, another orphanage with 120 children and the local YMCA, which helps

  youth. This area is called the “Copper Belt”.  Here mining has been a way of life exploiting the

  traditional people. AIDS and health issues are a major concern.

Orphanages for Africa (OFA)

• is an international humanitarian and development organization serving orphans through the establishment of micro-enterprise businesses. We offer a hand- up, rather than a hand-out, to Africans caring for orphans through orphanages and home-based care.
• OFA has one partner in Zambia, Shelter for Orphan Ministries, with whom we have been working since 2007.

Rafiki Foundation – Lusaka

• is a Christian organization whose goal is to help Africa’s orphaned and vulnerable children become godly contributors to their communities and the world. provide living and educational facilities in African countries where there are many orphans. The vision of the Rafiki Village is to support the community by operating a home environment and quality schools for orphans, and quarterly medical care for community residents.

Right To Play

• Sport has a natural and universal power to engage and motivate, to move and educate, to open dialogue and create positive change.
• harnesses the universal love of play to engage children and youth in regular, organized play activities that address critical challenges like the lack of basic education, lack of health information and the impact of conflict on both the individual and community networks and support systems.

Street Child Africa

• is the only UK charity entirely devoted to helping street children across Africa. We work in partnership with African organizations who adopt a street based approach to seek out and befriend street children, offering them guidance from trustworthy adults, education, medical care, baby care, skills training, vocational sponsorship, a place in the community, and a chance to choose a different path in life.
• We partner an agency called Friends of the Street Children in the Copperbelt region of Zambia. They are pioneering community based projects to enable children whose parents have died from Aids to be overseen by neighbours and extended families.

Ubumi Project Africa

• is a grass-roots, Zambian organization with the fundamental goal of improving the lives of children suffering as a result of HIV and AIDS within their families and communities.  Through partnerships with the local community, along with national and international groups, Ubumi has been able to work with families and the community to care for those most vulnerable.
