Here’s the latest ministry update from our friend Pastor Tom at People for Jesus Ministries. If you have an article or updated you’d like to share, please email me. Samuel
Dear Saints, Friends and Partners,
We send warm Christian greetings to you from People For Jesus Ministry – PFJM (formerly known as People For Jesus International Ministries).
Many activities have been going on for regular Church daily, weekly and monthly programmes and projects. Some of the evangelistic activities are enlisted in the updates while many others are not. The Church works in communities with many poor orphans, widows, pupils, students, and people at risk who need our support but we thank God that we are able to help some of them with your partnership.
OCTOBER 2013
The month of October 2013 was a time to pray more and plan many upcoming Church activities for November and December 2013.
KANDARIA MIXED SECONDARY SCHOOL ELCTRICAL WIRING UPDATES
The government of Kenya is now saying that since they have brought electricity up to the doorstep of the school, they want the school to do the wiring of the school facilities then the government will connect the school to electricity source. The wiring will cost the school £1800. The school is planning to hold a funds-drive in the course of 2014 to see if they can raise some money. That means, the computer project donated by Menzieshill High school will wait till electricity is installed at the school. 9TH – 11TH DECEMBER 2013: ENTREPRENEURING CHRISTIAN WOMEN SEMINAR
The Narok town Church conducted a unique seminar for women in Narok on the dynamics of Christian business and women. Bank managers, business consultants and other professional Christians were invited to speak at the seminar. One woman testified after the seminar that ”I have been an ignorant Christian woman for a long time, now my spiritual eyes can see holistic Godly development”.

18TH – 20TH DECEMBER 2013: The Church had a powerful Conference that was conducted in the Olooltoto church Narok Kenya. It was a time to train the Church about discipleship, leadership skills and holistic ministry empowerment teachings. The Church is located in a typical Maasai village and needs sacrificial commitment in discipleship. The church has committed a 6-months strategic plan to spiritually revive the church and proclaim the gospel in the area, which is an animist area. It is now three months since we began the revival strategy in the Church and we are seeing great fruit evident in the increased number of members and spiritual growth among members.
17TH – 18TH 2013: YOUTH SEMINAR: The youth of PFJM in Narok County were not left out of the festive season teachings. During August and December holidays, the Maasai community engages the youth in outlawed female circumcision rituals. The PFJM Church normally counteracts that by conducting important youth seminars in which the youth are taught Biblical moral principles and the dangers of the rituals of female circumcision.

21ST DECEMBER 2013: PFJM ANNUAL END YEAR CELEBRATION. The PFJM in Narok Kenya had a blessed end year celebration. It is a time to thank God for what God enabled us to do in the year 2013. There was plenty of food, the gospel was preached and many activities graced the occasion.
25TH DECEMBER 2013: THE BIG MEAL 2013. The Church had hectic, joyful, exciting, spiritually uplifting, meaty and glorious time celebrating the Big Meal 2013 in various parts of Kenya and Tanzania. In the year 2013, we had the celebration at Tanzania Morogoro and in Kenya at Kisumu– Nyamkebe, Kajiado– Ongata Rongai, Narok town and in Narok Olooltoto Maasai village. WE SERVED ABOUT 750 CHILDREN IN 2013. The Big Meal is our annual event in which we provide very delicious meals to needy and poor children. The event targets all communities where People For Jesus Ministry has a branch Church. Children are also given different awards and special gifts. Biblical teaching on the birth of Jesus Christ and the salvation/redemption gospel forms a key aspect of the celebration. It is a wonderful occasion in which PFJM Sunday school children are regarded as the hosts. Songs, skits, poems, choral speeches, Bible quizzes, completions, etc., engage children for the better part of the whole Christmas day. We truly appreciate all the donors, well-wishers and participants who make this event successful and blessed each year.
ORPHANS/VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND STUDENTS SUPPORT AND SPONSORSHIP: That programme is still going on and has expanded this year to include more beneficiaries.

PEOPLE FOR JESUS MINISTRY MISSION TEAM COUNCIL
People For Jesus Ministry has a mission team or Mission Council that plans and implements local, regional and international missions programmes. That includes crusades, church planting, prayers and intercessory prayers, community evangelistic Outreach programmes and projects. The team also mobilizes, recruits, sends and support long-term and short-term missionaries to different parts of the world. The Mission Team also hosts volunteer missionaries from every part of the world. The Mission Council meets every month to pray, plan and implement Church mission programmes.
WIDOWS AND THE POOR PEOPLE’S PROJECTS NEED YOUR SUPPORT
PFJM has established a self-help project called ”Cluster Dynamics” which are designed to pull together groups of 5, 10 or 15 people from within a community group who are mutually in great need. The groups are tasked with developing a micro-project which will generate income for the group in order that they can support themselves and their families.
The groups mainly made up of destitute women, are poor for a number of reasons but mainly due to the tragedy of HIV/AIDS which affects each family in one way or another. Some suffer from the disease themselves, others as a result of losing their husband by HIV/AIDS. The result is that the remaining partner (usually wife and mother) is left to support a number of children. PFJM can help these groups get established by providing one time initial set up grant of £450, 900 and 1350 respectively, allowing them to get going with their project and bring in the much needed income that will grow the project and support the group and their dependants. PFJM will closely monitor the projects to ensure that they are profitable to the groups. You can invest in this worthy course that can profitably change lives of the poor widows and others for a life time. We Currently have the groups of 5, 10 and 15 ready to move with any support that comes to them. PLEASE HELP THESE POOR PEOPLE TRANSFORM THEIR LIVES BY YOUR ONE TIME SUPPORT.
