Yesterday I watched the beginning of a movie on the Gospel of John. I think that officially my favourite part of all the Scriptures is John 1. The whole Christology is given, and the way that St. John weaves together these great ideas of the Jewish concept of ‘The Word’ – God’s spoken word as his actions and what he does, with the Greek Platonic and Stoic concept of Logos and ‘The One’ into the perfect picture of Kerygma and Ousia – I hope that is proper Greek. What God is and how we know him. But enough of me mispelling greek words and terms I barely understand.
