- Intro – The Word we don’t like to use – Repent
- Repent. It’s attractive and provokes transformation (1-5)
- Repent. It’s offensive and provokes self-righteousness (6-9)
- Repent. It saves from judgment. (10-12) – Christ takes our judgment
Week # 2 – Who are you? – John 1.19-34
- I am immeasurably inferior to Jesus (19-26)
- Jesus is incomparably superior to me (27-34)
- The one who is incomparably superior dies so. The one who is immeasurably inferior might live
- Who are you? – I am the immeasurably inferior one who the incomparably superior dies for?
Week # 3 – In whatever life brings – John 3.22-30
- When life gives you less (22-26)
- I will receive it as from God. (28-29)
- I will make much of Jesus. (30)
Week # 4 – When Doubts Come – Matt 11:1-6
- John Doubted because he was in prison, not rescued and had only a partial view of Christ (1-3)
- When life gives you less
- Meditate on the words of Jesus (4)
- Stand on the work of Jesus (5)
- Trust in the sufficiency of Jesus (6)
Week # 5 – Senseless – Mark 6:12–29
- 4 Encouragements from a Senseless Story
- The Gospel is Unstoppable (12-15)
- Following Christ is about dying to self (16-26)
- God does some of his best work through weak, invisible and small things. (27-28)
- Because of the resurrection nothing is senseless (29)
